I had the opportunity to walk around a park I’ve never been to before with a friend. He has been doing this for a long time. I learned a lot. I took 140+ photos and only a few are any good.

I’ll admit since I’ve gotten my new camera, I haven’t learned as much as I would have liked about the science of photography. I had been using mostly the various “modes” features on my camera – macro mode, portrait mode etc… Now I use it in manual mode. I’ve still got a lot to learn.

Throughout the day a lot of people spoke English to us. This doesn’t happen very often to me. The first time was from Aki and Miho. They gave us red bull. My first one. It was rather delicious.

Older people like to paint water color of nature in Japan. I tried to capture it. I learned about proper exposure in this shot. I am still working on framing though. I want to take tighter photos. I think heavy usage of sneaker-zoom could improve this. Once I learn how to frame better I will expand my collection of glass.

This last photo I applied everything I learned throughout they day about aperture, shutter speed, focal length and their relationships. While the framing could be possibly be better, I am happy with the exposure of this photo.
